For my birthday trip this year, I went back to the great state of California! This was my sixth time visiting and my third time traveling the Pacific Coast Highway, commonly known as the PCH or California State Route 1. I've been trying to convince my family to visit California since my first visit back in 2008, well this year I succeeded. My mom and youngest brother was able to travel along with me, which made this trip more memorable. If you are considering visiting California, I highly recommend traveling the Pacific Coast Highway. Driving the PCH is an amazing experience, the stunning views of the mountains, coastline, palm trees, and the weather are PRICELESS!!!

My vacation dates were from May 1 - May 12, 2019. I flew from Atlanta < > San Francisco. I stayed in San Francisco, Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles. When I travel, I love to explore. I'm going to list a few attractions I visited in each city. Attractions in San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz Island, Lombard Street, Oracle Park, Muir Woods, and Sausalito. Attractions in Monterey: Cannery Row and Old Fisherman's Wharf. Attractions in Santa Barbara: State Street and Stearns Wharf. Attractions in Los Angeles: The Alley, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hollywood Sign, Venice Beach, Rodeo Drive, STAPLES Center, and Runyon Canyon Park. There is so much more to explore in California.

Travel tips: Before traveling to California, check the weather because the climate is different. San Francisco is extremely windy, make sure to pack a hat or hood. I packed according to the weather and I froze in San Francisco, this was the coldest I've ever experienced this time of year. Since I traveled with family this trip, we had a rental car the entire trip. This was my first time having a rental car in San Francisco and my last. Parking is expensive and difficult to find. I recommend that you stay close to the attractions and take public transportation, that has worked best for me in the past. Make sure you visit a Farmers Market if love fresh fruit and vegetables. That's my California recap, I hope this information is helpful as you plan your vacation!
